Dr. Susie Orbach is a psychoanalyst and psychotherapist with a practice seeing individuals and couples, and, also, consulting to organisations.Ìý She co-founded The Women's Therapy Centre in London in 1976 and The Women's Therapy Center Institute in New York City in 1981.



She is the author of twelve books, co-editor of a further volume.Ìý Her recent In Therapy: The Unfolding Story is based on her B.B.C. Radio 4 series of the same name was rebroadcast in July and August 2018.Ìý The prize-winning, Bodies has just been updated and an extensively changed new edition was published in August 2019.Ìý She has also published may papers and she frequently writes for the press.Ìý She wrote a column in The Guardian for ten years.Ìý Her book, Bodies won the Women in Psychology award for best book.Ìý She is the recipient of the first Lifetime Achievement Award for Psychoanalysis given by the British Psychoanalytical Society.Ìý She has a strong interest in social policy, and she co-authored recent government papers.Ìý She has also been a member of government expert panels.



She brings her psychological and social acumen to The Balint Consultancy and hopes to contribute to several aspects of the work, including individual and couple work, executive coaching, and social policy.
