KATHLEEN WHITMIRE, PHD, CCC-SLP, BC-CL

Kathleen Whitmire, PhD, CCC-SLP, BC-CL, has a career in education that spans more than 30 years.听She is currently the President of SDG Enterprise LLC, an education consulting firm. Dr. Whitmire previously served as the Director of Educational Programs for the National Center for Learning Disabilities where she was responsible for a multi-million-dollar RTI initiative with a global reach to millions of students and educators.听Before that Dr. Whitmire was the Director of School Services in Speech-Language Pathology for the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, leading practices programs for over 60,000 speech-language pathologists working in the schools.听She began her career as a school-based clinician, and has held positions as a clinic supervisor, lecturer, professor and university department chair.听

Dr. Whitmire has presented extensively at the international, national and state levels for school administrators, teachers, speech-language pathologists, policy makers, and special educators. She has authored more than 30 journal articles and chapters; has served as guest editor for three professional journals; and sits on the editorial board of Topics in Language Disorders and Communication Disorders Quarterly. Dr. Whitmire also serves on the Executive Policy Board of the Communications Sciences and Disorders Research Group and on the Specialty Board for Child Language. A nationally-certified speech-language pathologist, Dr. Whitmire is a board-certified specialist in child language and a Fellow of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
